Food and Accommodation

PictureIca Station Homestead
We welcome you to Ica Station Homestead, Whareama, on your first night, anytime between 3 & 6pm.  Here, depending on your group size, you will be accommodated in one of our stand alone self-contained cottages (India House or Ica Whare) or with us, in the main Homestead using our B&B Rooms. Your first evening meal will be in the accommodation when you arrive, requiring only the minimum input from you - perhaps heating something in the oven or cooking something on the BBQ.

Ica Station Homestead is at the end of a 'no exit' road, so there is plenty of private and secure parking. Please make yourselves at home and enjoy the quiet, peaceful atmosphere Ica Station Homestead and grounds has to offer.  When you arrive your hosts will welcome you and provide a short group briefing at approximately 6.00pm about the walk (in your accommodation).

For our fully catered walk option, we use as much locally sourced fresh produce as we can to give you delicious healthy, hearty meals.  We provide you with all the provisions for a 'self-serve' continental breakfast, picnic lunch (you make your own sandwiches), afternoon tea and an evening meal with dessert.

PictureFully catered New Zealand walking adventure!

BYO alcohol (or wine available to purchase here) - we even transport it ahead and chill it for your arrival after your walk. There are complimentary provisions of tea (Dilmah), instant coffee (sachets), milo, juice and filter water at the cottages.  Please inform us of any special dietary requirements or intolerance's at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Meat and vegetarian meal options are included in the price.  Gluten free (gf) and other special dietary meal requests may incur an extra charge.  If you have any intolerance's, please bring your own preferred bread, cereals, milk and snacks you think you will need (to supplement our menu).

Your 2nd night is spent at the Wai Ngaio Retreat, with it's ever changing Pacific Ocean views!  The Wai Ngaio Retreat belongs to Castlepoint Station and is a large ex-hunting and fishing lodge that is set back in the hill overlooking the sea.

Your 3rd night (depending on your group size) is spent back at our Ica Station self-contained cottages or (if you are a larger group) you transport yourselves back to the coastal lodge.  Here on a hot day you can cool yourself down with a dip in the swimming pool...... or soothe those aching muscles in our outdoor spa pool before heading to your overnight accommodation!.
Our walk is Community driven and run by the Tredwell Family, with everyone doing their share to offer you rural East Coast hospitality.  We pride ourselves on the meals and beautiful accommodation we provide in order to give you an experience to remember!

Please note if you are a group of only 2 or 3, you will be picked up and brought back to Whareama each night to your accommodation.
